Our Cottage Series plantation shutters are the highest quality synthetic solid poly resin available. Manufactured from solid cellular PVC (not hollow or capped), our Cottage Series are designed to provide the same look as wood. Solid PVC shutters are a cost-effective alternative to our Classic Series, and provide great performance in Florida climate.
Built to the same high quality standard of The Classic, the Cottage Series are available in many frame options, your choice of 2 ½”, 3 ½”, 4 ½” louvers, and are painted in Snow White color. We invite you to check out our Cottage Series Shutters.

Louvers
The size of the louver is a personal preference, with decor style, opening depth, and light requirements influencing the final selection.
For larger windows, or for those who seek a more contemporary look, wide louvers often work best and will allow a greater view. For those wanting to achieve a more traditional look, narrow louvers are a preferred choice.
Materials
High-quality Cottage Series shutters are extremely stable and long-lived in our Florida environment. For showers and bathrooms and areas with high humidity levels, Cottage Series shutters are the most suitable choice.
There is a wide range of quality in the marketplace, from hollow vinyl panels (to reduce the cost of the expensive oil-based raw materials) to solid poly. Hollow vinyl shutters tend to bow and droop over time, and plastic caps on hollow louvers tend to yellow over time.
Millennium Shutters™ uses only the highest quality, solid raw materials. Our shutters will not warp or yellow over time. They do not release harmful contaminants like formaldehyde, a common indoor pollutant, into your home.

Additional Options
Number of Panels
Associated with louver selection is the number of shutter panels in an opening. Cottage Series panels can be fabricated up to 36”, depending on the configuration.
Mid-Rails
Panels can be divided into upper and lower sections by adding mid-rails or divider rails. As a result, the louvers in each section can be opened and closed independently of each other. This is valuable in rooms like bedrooms and bathrooms, or entryway doors where privacy can be controlled by closing the lower section while light can be controlled by opening and closing the upper section.
Tilt Rods
For a traditional style, the louvers are controlled by a “tilt rod” at the center of the front of the panel. This is known as “front tilt”. If a cleaner, modern style is desired, the tilt rod is moved to the back of the panel on one side so that the view through the shutters is unimpeded. This is known as “hidden tilt” or “clear view.”
